Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is Belarusian born in Minsk. The father of her Sergey (d. 2019) was an athlete in ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk Belarus, on 5 May 1998. In her career she has achieved 12 WTA singles titles including the Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. In addition, she's an outstanding doubles player. There are two Majors to her name in this specialty the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both together with Elise Mertens. Additionally, she was able to complete the Sunshine Double in 2019, and won both the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open together with Elise Mertens. This feat was accomplished by four couples playing in the women's doubles. Her ranking went from second to third on the world singles rankings on August 23rd, 2021. Her best ranking came in January of 2023. She rose to the top of the doubles rankings in the year following, having triumphing in Melbourne. That made her the only Belarusian tennis player to have success on the court. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach from 2018, until the season came to an end in 2019 and also for a short time at the start of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was her coach for the period from August until September 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her in the years since 2020. Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova are her heroes.
